In the year 1940, during a time prior to partition of the sub-continent, Muhammad Sarwar Dar worked as a layman in a metal casting unit that was owned by a Hindu foundry owner. He spent his day and night working hard in that unit and learned about how the business was being run.
By 1945, through his hard work and determination, he gained a significant amount of understanding due his experience and optimistic frame of mind. His visionary mentality and highly motivated outlook on matters lead him to eventually purchase the unit that he was employed in and start running the business on his own. His continuous struggle for excellence turned it into a success. He named this achievement of his, DAR FOUNDRY WORKS.

In the 1960’s, Muhammad Sarwar Dar took hold of the opportunity that came in the form of a government scheme that aided small and medium sized industries. By collaborating with PSIC (Punjab Small Industries Corporation), he decided to venture further into the metal works industry using the expertise he had gained thus far in this field of work. By 1965, two plots were leased for the construction of a cutlery manufacturing unit which was named, DAR CUTLERY WORKS.
Due to his undying dedication towards his work, untiring efforts and desire to provide people with the best quality products and services, Dar Cutlery Works grew from a small and modest start to the high quality renowned business that it is today. Under the brand name COCKTAIL and conforming to the slogan ‘Quality Tableware’, the business excels at providing cutlery of unmatchable quality to customers that deserve no less than the best.
